Annual Programs

Children's Christmas Program
One Sunday in December, the kids in the church help to act out the Christmas story during the Sunday morning worship service. Kids get to wear simple costumes. With motions, songs, and some simple lines, the group helps to tell the story of Christmas.

EGGstravaganza
This is a fun event that takes place on Holy Saturday, before Easter Sunday. Crafts, snacks, games, and an Easter Egg Hunt all help to center us on the sotry of Christ's Passion. The kids spend time with Pastor Stephen and other faithful adults who talk on an age approprate level about Palm Sunday, the Last Supper, Jesus' crucifixion and death, and his Resurrection.

Vacation Bible School
During the summer we collaborate with the Episcopal Church of the Good Samaratain on a week of Vacation Bible School. Songs, Snacks, Games, Crafts, and Bible Stories all help our kids to grow in their faith. VBS is a morning program 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Milestone Life Events

Baptism and Baptismal Birthdays
We believe that the grace of God is meant for children and that the Lord delights to name and claim, forgive and fill with the Spirit children and adults who are broght to Holy Baptism. Our faith receives the gift of Baptism, and in faith parents bring their children to this sacrament trusting the promises of the Triune God for their child. Throughout our lives, and on the first Sunday of the month, we also celebrate Baptismal Birthdays as a way of claiming anew this gracious work of God. Can you or your children be baptized? Yes! Reach out to the office and we'll begin the conversation.

First Bibles
When our kids reach Second Grade we want to make sure they have a great kid appropriate Bible. So we make a big deal out of it in worship and encourage the child to:

Hear God’s word with us.
Learn and tell its stories.
Discover its mysteries.
Honor its commandments.
Rejoice in its good news.
May God’s life-giving word inspire you and make you wise.

Communion Celebration
Children may begin to receive communion as soon as they are baptized. The "right age" depends on the child and is determined in conversation with the Parents and the Pastor. In Third Grade, we gather our kids and their parents for a Communion Class where we learn more intentionally about the sacrament of Holy Communion, and the gift of grace that it is for us.
